Fertility Goddess on Leave

Acrylic, spray paint, ink and oil stick on 100 x 100 cm canvas (47.24″ x 31.49″), stretched on a supported wooden frame and ready to hang!

While starting a painting without a goal a figurative shape appeared. I continued to build on this shape and it started to remind of of fertility goddess. A mythical figure in an ever changing form. As timed passed by I started to approach the painting from a sarcastic point of view. A goddess would always be on duty and would never retire or go on a holiday. This goddess is done with humans and in need of a holiday, so therefor throwing a couple of condoms and sort of saying ‘I am outta here’.
We all know she’s coming back again, she just needs some time off. And she is right. Once in a while we are all done with us humans.
